Commening Thursday, 30 January 2020 St Mary's School times will be as follows:

8.00 am         Teacher on duty

8.20 - 10.20    Lessons - Session 1

10.20 - 10.55  Recess

10.55 - 12.55  Lessons - Session 2

12.55 - 1.15    Lunch

1.15 - 1.30      Eating

1.30 - 2.50      Lessons - Session 3

Lessons will commence at 8.20 am and conclude at 2.50 pm; allowing for the required instruction allocation time of 5 hours and 20 minutes.

Before School Care will operate from 7 - 8 am and After School Care will operate from 2.50 - 5.45 pm.

Yesterday students in Grade 3 and Grade 5 received their NAPLAN student reports. I strongly urge you to take the time to watch this video: https://www.nap.edu.au/results-and-reports/student-reports/student-report-video. This video concisely explains the information provided in the report and how to interpret it. Please be mindful that NAPLAN results do not affect or have an impact on school grades or reports. If you have any questions regarding your child’s NAPLAN report, please contact your child’s teacher.

As a school we are so proud of all of the Grade 3 and 5 students who participated and completed the NAPLAN assessments. We are excited as a school to announce that the mean for our school was ABOVE the Australian National mean in all test areas in both year levels. In particular our Grade 3 students did exceptionally well in Reading, Spelling, Grammar & Punctuation and Numeracy tests.

This is a true testament to the hard work of our teachers and the success of the new initiatives we have implemented as a school. A wonderful achievement for our school,
