May  as a reminder of Mary’s importance in the life of the Church and in our own lives. It was during the Middle Ages (11th century) that the idea of giving the month of May to Mary began with an old tradition, the “30-Day Devotion to Mary”, which was originally held August 15 to September 14. During the month, special devotions to Mary were organised, and this custom, which began in Italy eventually spread elsewhere.

You might like to take the time together as a family to pray the Rosary during the month of May.

Holy Mary, mother fair,
Filled with love for God,

Exploring the Catholic Faith for Non-Catholics

The St. Mary’s Cathedral is offering the opportunity for non-Catholics to explore the catholic faith. If you know anybody interest to know more about the catholic faith, please contact Deacon Tony Cunningham on 0407 549 708. They meet fortnightly on Mondays between 6pm to 7pm.
